Buying standing timber and doing great work is our passion, and is a major component of our business. If you are an owner of standing timber or a forester working as an owner's agent and are looking to capitalize on timber while practicing good, sustainable forestry on the land, we would love to work with you on your project. We are flexible on working with owners to set up an appropriate contract for their timber, and always keep the clients' interests and objectives as our first priority.
Whether you have a single log or a million board feet, Canopy Timber Alternatives, Inc. is looking to work with you on marketing your forest products. We buy year-round, offering competitive pricing on all grades of all species of northern hardwood and softwood logs and veneer. We also buy log-length firewood and hardwood and softwood pulp on your landing. Our pay-week runs weekly - all logs delivered by 5pm Friday will be paid for the following Wednesday morning. Earlier payment can be arranged. We also provide trucking service if you need help getting your logs moved. Please have a look at the price sheets below and give us a call with any questions.
The average price our company pays for standing timber always exceeds the regional market average.

Once he found that milking cows was not for him, he took to the woods in 1989 when he began logging with oxen and one tractor. Over time, the business grew beyond oxen with a skidder, dozer, and a log truck. Six years later, Garry transitioned to the broking end of the business and began buying for Three Rivers Timber out of Pennsylvania. In 1997, he found himself back in Vermont at Northeast Timber Exchange, where he worked until transitioning to working for Canopy Timber in 2021. When Garry is not in the Rockingham yard, he does not stray far from the woods and enjoys maple sugaring.
